Obviously, throughout history dentist haven’t had the tools they now have at their disposal, they have had to make do with whatever they had in hand, as an orthodox as it may seem according to today’s standards, for example using beeswax and even flint tools to picked off tooth decay, and if you want an even more bizarre story, there was a time in which dental cavities were thought to be the results of having a tooth worm, as it was mentioned in Homer’s Iliad.
I can guarantee you that one of the reasons why you hate going to the dentist in the first place is because you think it may hurt, then, what do you think our ancestors felt when their tooth had to be pulled out of their mouth without any kind of anesthetic, now, that is painful, surely, you won’t complain ever again.
